Talbot Court shortlisted in Housing Excellence Awards 2015

BTP has been shortlisted, along with client Southway Housing Trust and contractors Wates Living Space, in the ‘Best New Affordable Housing Scheme’ category of this year’s Housing Excellence Awards. 

Talbot Court, which has been recommended for the award, is Southway’s newest development of 18 affordable flats, built to address the growing demand for smaller homes in South Manchester as more residents wish to downsize. 

Built on the site of the former Ladybarn pub, BTP has designed an inspiring living space which complements the surrounding Withington residential area.  What differentiates this development from others is that this was an exemplar scheme for community involvement, with residents given the opportunity to engage in the early design of the development and choice of materials.  The end result is a wonderful building that the community can be proud of, as they actively contributed towards the design. 

The 2015 winners will be decided at an independent panel of industry experts and announced at the Housing Excellence Awards annual gala dinner on Wednesday 6th May at the Lancashire County Cricket Ground.
