Restoring Safety and Confidence at Moho
We’re delighted that the full façade remediation at the iconic Moho building in Castlefield, Manchester, has been successfully completed. Acting as Architects and Principal Designers under the Building Regulations, we have worked to ensure the building now meets modern fire safety standards.
Originally developed by Urban Splash, Moho is a distinctive 102-unit modular apartment block on Ellesmere Street, formed from prefabricated ‘living pods’ constructed off-site using modern methods of construction.
Delivered in close collaboration with BWP Building and Project Consultants, HH Smith, and Wintech, on behalf of the Moho Management Company, the project involved the careful removal of the original timber cladding and other combustible materials. These have now been replaced with non-combustible aluminium cladding and fire-resistant components, ensuring long-term safety, durability, and aesthetic integrity.
