BTP reaches for the skies with high rise commissions
It has been a busy year so far for BTP working on a number of landmark high rise refurbishment projects across the North West, all at different stages of development.
As specialists in high-rise refurbishment projects, BTP have been selected for these commissions which involve façade refurbishment, fire stopping and replacement of External Wall Insulation systems with non-combustible cladding.
Working with project managers BWP Building & Project Consultants, projects include landmark city centre high rise buildings such as The Light House in Manchester for Capital Climb, Picture House in Bolton and Bridge Square Apartments in Lancaster for Irwell Valley Housing Association and Manchester’s iconic Moho modular apartments for Zenith.
Over in Manchester's Northern Quarter, BTP is working on the iconic Advent House development, which comprises three connecting blocks, working with specialist contractor IRS (Scotland) Ltd for Urban Bubble and Zenith. Works include the replacement of three types of external cladding (render, copy and timber) with new non-combustible EWI and cladding systems.
BTP is also working on a number of 1960’s towerblock refurbishments together with contractor Casey, including Bowland House in Blackburn for Great Places, Alexandra and Whimbrel towers in Bootle for Sovini and Chartist House and Thompson Court in Tameside for Jigsaw Homes. Bowland House formed part of a national pilot that BTP worked on together with Great Places to explore the application of BIM methodology to provide a ‘golden thread’ of information to assist with fire safety and building maintenance.
