BTP Directors join the RIBA Principal Designer Register

Congratulations to BTP Directors Manuel Atkinson and Simon Dennis for passing their Principal Designer Assessment and joining the RIBA Principal Designer Register!

Alongside BTP Directors Leanne Beirne and Vicky Saunders, they are among only 22 architects in the country to achieve this recognition! This accomplishment demonstrates their competence in meeting the criteria for the new Building Regulations Principal Designer Role, as well as their qualification to undertake the traditional CDM Principal Designer Role.

Vicky and Leanne have also achieved the higher competency level of assessment, reflecting BTP's extensive work on Higher Risk Buildings (HRBs), including tower block refurbishments.

With the implementation of England's new Building Regulations in August 2023, every building project must now have a Principal Designer. This individual or organization, appointed by the client, is responsible for leading the planning, management, monitoring, and coordination of health and safety and building regulations compliance during the project's design phase.
