BTP were architects on a scheme to bring 40 modern, much needed affordable homes to Southport Road in Scarisbrick.Working with client, One Vision Housing, our design fits in with surrounding buildings.
As planning policy did not support the development of this site as it was in a small rural village, we worked really closely with planners to meet their requirements. The result is we have designed a scheme that ensures provision of plenty of green space, including a courtyard, and is in keeping with the rural surrounds.
We took a thoughtful approach to the design of each individual home to ensure these will be a joy for older residents to move into; for example by making sure furniture will easily fit in. The scheme has recently been handed over to the client and feedback is extremely positive.
Designed to suit 55+ residennts
In keeping with local rural vernacular
Rural exception site with no services
Fits harmoniously with nearby Lodmore Hall
Fabric first approach
Inexpensive for landlord to maintain and residents to live in.
We have enjoyed working in partnership with BTP on this scheme and are really happy with the way these properties have been specifically designed to suit the needs of older people.
