More Burleydam families can look forward to a future living in the village thanks to BTP's design of new affordable rented homes just a stone's throw from Grade II listed Lodmore Hall.
The homes have been sensitively designed by BTP to complement their rural surroundings following a £1.7m investment from client, Jigsaw Homes.
The Lodmore Lane development in the small village of Burleydam, Cheshire East, comprises 8 apartments and 9 houses for affordable rent and prioritised for local people.
BTP Architects was brought on board due to the team's expertise in creating community housing with good design at its heart. The design of these new homes is inspired by rural barns to fit in with the local community and complement nearby Lodmore Hall.
This was a challenging project due to the rural location of the site and lack of utilities or transport links. BTP worked closely with the Parish Council, Cheshire East Council, Homes England, Highways and Tyson Cosntruction to resolve these issues.
It was important that this development worked in harmony with the local rural vernacular. Manuel Atkinson, Director at BTP Architecs, said "It is a real thrill to walk around these new homes and see how they will contriburte to the future of the village. Our team therefore took care throughout the project to ensure the design of these brick-built homes worked practically and aesthetically within the surroundings."
