Project Description

Design of HQ for housing provider in heart of their neighbourhood

Mosscare Housing have been providing high quality homes in Moss Side since the 1960s. Their success and expansion meant that they needed a permanent Head Quarters to meet their customers' requirements.

BTP were appointed by Mosscare to design the new HQ and offices right in the heart of the community it serves. The building was to act not only as their head office but also a community facility used for a variety of purposes and groups.

The office has been successfully extended over 25 years and has now reached its full potential.

Phase 1 ‐ 1988. Two storey office to house administration with small meeting facilities.

Phase 2 ‐ 1991. Major expansion to increase the floor area by 200%. Provide larger reception, boardroom, administration space and staff rest room.

Phase 3 ‐ 2006. Two storey link block created to form a quadrangle and link all parts of the building. Inner courtyard created and office refurbished to DDA standards.

Phase 4 ‐ 2013. Single storey extension to create 60m² of additional office space. Further alterations to create additional meeting room, prayer room and additional accessible WC. Attic space converted in offices and IT suite.
