Manuel Atkinson
BA (Hons), M.Arch, ARB, RIBA, Dip.DEA
I joined BTP in 2008, qualified as an Architect in 2013 and became a Director in 2017. During the past 15 years I have gained extensive knowledge in the different Design Criteria for housing, elderly living and care; such as HQI, DQS, Lifetime Homes, Happi, NDSS and the Building Regulations Part M4(2) and M4(3) criteria.
I have a particular specialism in sustainability and have gained accreditation as an Energy Assessor for new build and existing dwellings (OCDEA / DEA) and as a 'Home Quality Mark' Assessor. I am heavily involved in all sustainability aspects within the office and regularly develop strategies to achieve our client's ambitions working towards zero-carbon targets and meeting the Future Homes Standard as well as meeting statutory requirements imposed by Planning and the Building Regulations.
Over the past 6 years, I have been heavily involved in improving BTP's BIM (Building Information Modelling) credentials and have gained numerous qualifications through the BRE to manage the BIM process and workflows. Amongst these, I was the 7th person in the Country to be accredited to carry out the BIM roles of TIM (Task Information Manager) and PIM (Project Information Manager).
My advanced knowledge in BIM and Sustainability has also resulted in me delivering numerous training sessions, CPD's and workshops to RP clients and Contractors.
