I started working for BTP in 1994, qualified as an Architect in June 1995 and was promoted to Associate in January 1998 and Director in 2002.
During the past 20 years at BTP, I have gained extensive knowledge in all types of housing, including external recladding of tower blocks, health care and education. I have worked on a number of historic projects, which have developed my conservation philosophy and strategy. I specialise in sustainability, all types of supported housing, conservation and BIM and have obtained accreditation as a Code for Sustainable Homes and Energy Assessor, BIM Accredited Professional and CA Conservation Architect with RIBA.
When not at work, I enjoy skiing and sailing. I run regularly and enjoy swimming. I also mentor and train Part 2 students to achieve professional qualifications. In 2012 I was shortlisted for Architect of the Year in Women in Construction. In 2014 I judged a student competition for Women in Property, North West Student Award.
I joined BTP in 2008, qualified as an Architect in 2013 and was promoted to Associate in June 2014. During the past 8 years I have gained extensive knowledge in different Design Criteria for housing; such as HQI, DQS, Lifetime Homes and the Building Regulations.
I have a particular specialism in sustainability and have gained accreditation as a 'Code for Sustainable Homes', 'Energy' and 'Home Quality Mark' Assessor. I am heavily involved in all sustainability aspects within the office and regularly develop Strategies to achieve our client's ambitions and satisfy statutory requirements imposed by planning.
Over the past 3 years, I have been heavily involved in improving BTP's BIM (Building Information Modelling) credentials and have gained numerous qualifications through the BRE to manage the BIM process and workflow. Amongst these, I was the 7th person in the Country to be accredited to carry out the BIM roles of TIM (Task Information Manager) and PIM (Project Information Manager). My advanced knowledge in BIM has also resulted in me delivering a number of training sessions, CPD's and workshops to RP clients and Contractors.
I have spent over 25 years in the construction industry and have worked at BTP since 2009. I have extensive skills from site through to consultant level. I have extensive experience in stock condition surveying and reporting, with a proven ability to project manage throughout all stages of the RIBA Plan of Works. I also have a particular specialism in the repair and restoration of historic buildings.
My unique skill set enables me to see a project from the initial site survey stage through to the preparation of tender documents, budget estimating, cost control and acting as lead consultant on site.
I have completed an HNC in Building Studies (architectural and quantity surveying), have a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and am a qualified Energy Assessor with Elmhurst Energy.
With any spare time I have, I like to play an active role in my community and am currently a Councillor for Poynton Town Council and a Trustee for an Almshouse Association in Macclesfield. I also enjoy travelling with my family.
